About the Designer: Lisa Sprowls
“If you’re anything like me, you like being comfortable. You sometimes follow fashion
trends but when it really comes down to it, you truly feel like yourself in jeans and
flip flops. My favorite piece of jewelry is a simple sterling silver pair of earrings that I
made years ago. They go with everything. They look great dressed up with evening
wear or dressed down with yoga pants and a t-shirt. When I started this brand, I set
out to design a responsibly-sourced, sustainable jewelry line for women like myself.”
Lisa Sprowls is a Colorado-based designer who studied industrial design and metalsmithing at the Rhode Island School of Design. She is inspired by simple details, natural forms and textures, contrasting metals, and the naturally formed outdoor playground found in her home state. Her love and respect for nature, has inspired Lisa to believe in using sustainable and eco-friendly materials and methods whenever possible. From metals to gemstones to marketing materials and packaging, G Miner Studios believes in putting in the extra effort to find and use eco-friendly options.
HISTORY
Lisa’s grandfather, John “Mac” Davis, passed away in the summer of 2014. He was a true rockhound with a passion for collecting exotic rocks, minerals and gemstones. When Lisa was young, he taught her about rock digging, polishing, faceting and setting.
The G Miner Studios brand was created to honor his knowledge, passion, and humor. Mac’s other love was music and, for as long as Lisa can remember, his license plate read “G Miner,” a play on words expressing his two passions.
